I am currently working on the code for training and PW ironing out some flaws. i would expect to see slightly different and more accurate times being applied.

debug confirmed a flaw was introduced in the latest update to the code which stopped the layoff penalty being applied . that has now been fixed and what would have been the correct result is available to view in recent races. No real change of note except to the times and 1-2 reversed. what this demonstrates is that a penalty is no major hindrance if the horse is good enough and conditions suit. you may have notice i have introduced 3 gold stars to training times. this represents horses at the top of the range as i feel many see 3 green stars and assume they have a top horse and thats not always the case the intention was that stars was to be used in junction with PW checks and the actual training times to judge where any horse stood overall. and just to be clear each star allocation has a range there are horses at the top others in the middle and others at the bottom.

From next season NH Flat races will now be run as handicaps Final distances for 2 and 3yo will be rotated. Only classic distance will ever be rotated for seniors.

School option changed to £10 and 7 days

I believe that with the current changes in place re use of credits for everything except private offers claimers and auctions and the impossibility of converting credits to cash we can safely allow deposits into cash balance and users can choose how much to change into game credits.

Added option to school any horse with poor or average athleticism. cost £15 Successful school will upgrade athleticism 1 tier poor->average average->good. Chance is 50-50. Schooling takes 10 days and horse will not be eligible to race during that period.

Added 3 x NH Flat finals for 2yos open to runners who have taken part in the grade2 NH Flat series

Updated gamplay hints to give an example of deciphering horse prefs. Added reduction to credits for run bonus. Reason:Credits can now be used to enter races and while it is not desirable for players to use the equivalent of cash for adds we cannot have an overabundance of credits in the game. Situation will be monitored to ensure a fair balance.

Scratch now refunds to credits as only credits can be used for race entry

15/11/25 With a lot of new players joining recently, I want to outline the vision for where the game is heading before anyone becomes too heavily invested. These are the proposed changes for next season: Horse prices will be £10 per horse. Reason: Nomination fees currently only cover one or two final payouts, but there are 18 potential finals in total. Finals are funded almost entirely through new horse purchases, and once stables grow, purchases naturally slow down. The introductory £5 model isn’t sustainable in the long term. Qualifier entry fees will increase from £5 to £10 next season (nomination fees remain unchanged). Token values will rise accordingly: Gold £10, Silver £5, Bronze £3, with matching increases to token-based entry fees. Some lower-tier races may keep cheaper entry fees if players prefer. Reason: Larger prize pots create more meaningful races. I believe most players want more substantial, worthwhile prizes—but I’m open to feedback. Two meetings per day will run next season, with a second evening meeting. Reason: More opportunities to race, more course variety, and more choice of going. This benefits everyone. Tracks and goings will no longer be mostly random. A structured rotation will be used to ensure every track and going appears fairly throughout the season. Reason: Pure randomness often produces biased, lopsided patterns. A structured system ensures a more level playing field. These are the main changes planned. All comments and suggestions are welcome and will be given full consideration.

Now coded all horses have the chance to pick a favourite track but it is not guaranteed and not random it is based on track characteristics combined with horse traits. It has been applied retrospectively and the entire horse population now has this option.

03/11/25 Qualifiers and Finals programmed. There will be no Senior Finals this season as the current Senior population is too small. 01/11/25 End-of-season update completed successfully. Work begins soon on the new Race Viewer. 31/10/25 All new horses will now be born with 5 days since last run, allowing them to race immediately with no penalty. All horses will reset to 5 days since last run at the start of each new season, so no quick-run penalties apply.
